CAC backlogs

I have 20+ coins, all PCGS slabbed, at CAC via Great Collections. They have been there since August 31. No wonder they are temporarily suspending new submissions.

My last order of 20 was back in a week and a half including shipping time. Have you inquired with GC recently about the status?

That doesn’t sound right. A good friend of mine had a smaller submission but it was turned around in under 2 weeks

I have to agree with the above, have you checked with GC on the status?

If it helps calm your nerves, I gave gc 1 coin to submit to cac at the August Chicago ANA and it just arrived back at gc (with a green bean) last Friday. Everything is fine with your coins.

I sent a 6 coin submission in a couple weeks ago and had results in less than 7 days. Lightning fast turnaround.

My last CAC submission took twice as long as usual...two weeks...and I think there was a holiday in there somewhere. 🤔

My last coins were received by GC on 9/30 already graded. They went to CAC and were listed for sale yesterday.

At over double the cost of submission they are probably doing a lot better in terms of profit now. Any word on what they will be charging when they are up and running on the full service?

I believe this is more likely a GC delay and not a CAC delay.

GC is a bit behind. They have been working on something of mine since they received it in September 22. Of course, some coins went to PCGS then to CAC, so I think the delay is appropriate.

CAC does not get backlogged, this is why they cancelled the cheaper submission tier, to remain without backlogs. For the 3 dozen group submissions I have had to CAC, worst case was 2 weeks, simply bc I asked for a report from JA for those that did not bean, otherwise turnaround has always been ≤ 1 week and you can set your clock to it. CAC focuses on customer service which includes efficient turn around. Hmm.... What a concept (LOL).

So your slow progress has to be with GC. Ask Ian?

As far as I know, CAC has been backlogged and taking more than a week for quite some time.

My last submission was Jan. 2022 (11 coins) and exactly 1 week turn around. So it could be that since then things are slower, which is why they cancelled the cheaper submission tier, to get back on track and they have stated. Nevertheless, word on the street is not months to years like the other TPG's(?).

The turnaround time from 10 months ago is largely irrelevant. For months, now, it’s often been at least two weeks for our submissions. I’m not complaining - just trying to set the record straight.

My submission this month turned around in less than two weeks including requested commentary.
