How rare is a 1944 Henning nickel?

I believe the one I found is a "type 1" (without the Looped "R" in Pluribus;). The Article I read didn't pinpoint which type was more rare or more valuable, or any quantities that exist.

Thanks;

    This is the Henning that I own. The reason it's listed as damage is because if you look at the reverse you'll see the so-called Ring of Death from a coin rolling machine. This is the reason that I like this nickel a lot is because of the rolling machine story behind it.

  • Thanks the information, and yes, I like your ring of death!

    Why not post a photo?

    As far as "rarity", I'm not sure 1944 Hennings vary that much due to type. It's the non-1944 ones that carry a larger premium.

    The 1944's are fairly common, but still bring good prices. I think that the other known dates are 1939, 1946, 1947 and 1953. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. I have a 1944 but have never seen the other dates in person. They bring $500 up on eBay. A possible 1946 sold recently for only $49.95 - A true bargain if it was a Henning! The seller used very poor photos and buyer took a chance on it. The buyer wins big if it is a Henning! Motto here : USE good photos when selling anything on eBay. Anyone can take good photos these days, Even me and I am the worst photographer around.
    There are quite a few threads on this subject. simply type "Henning nickel" in the search
