Collecting Disney Coins

I hope this is the right forum for this kind of question. I am very new to collecting silver coins and I am a huge Disney fans so I was excited to learn that there are Disney silver coins to collect. I see where I can purchase current ones from Apmex of the NZ mint. But I have soured the internet and can find very little information about older coins (what is out there? and how to buy?). I see some on Ebay but I don't trust them. I've already bought one coin that turned out to be a fake. Can anyone point in the right direction for information about Disney silver coins and/or safe places to buy older ones? Thank you much in advance. Ed

    Howdy and welcome.

The Disney coins are a very niche item and you may get more traction on your questions is you post them in the US coin forum, as well. I know little about these. Good luck with your quest.

Thank you, I will do that. I wasn't sure if posting the same question in more than one forum was frowned upon or not.

I don't think anyone's sat down and compiled a "complete list of Disney coins". Nor are there likely to be specialist dealers.

Be aware that, as they require a license from Disney for permission to exist And Disney brand licensing isn't cheap, such coins will almost certainly retail at way over bullion value. The NZ Mint series is currently selling for 5x the bullion value. Secondary market value will usually reflect this, because worldwide demand for Disneymania is strong.

Buy them because you're a Disney fan and/or you like them. Or, if for an investment, buy them because you think prices for Disneymania are going to go up. Don't think of them as a "silver coin investment", because the fact these coins are made of silver is largely irrelevant to their value.

Waste no more time arguing what a good man should be. Be one.
