Why doesn’t Alabama have a pro football team ?

GoldenageGoldenage Posts: 3,278 ✭✭✭✭✭

Every state near it except Mississippi has one.

They have the money and fan base to support it. It baffles me why one isn’t there.

Although some would say there is one in Tuscaloosa 😎

That would mean that Alabama fans and Auburn fans would have to mingle.
    That dog don't hunt.... :#

Birmingham thought about it years ago, don't think they got the backing they needed.

#LetsGoSwitzerlandThe Man Who Does Not Read Has No Advantage Over the Man Who Cannot Read. The biggest obstacle to progress is a habit of “buying what we want and begging for what we need.”You get the Freedom you fight for and get the Oppression you deserve.

Better yet....Why doesn't Utah have a Pro football team?......I'll guarantee Dollars to Doughnuts.....that there are existing franchises in the NFL that would relocate to Salt Lake City in a heartbeat....... But for tradition, etc....The NFL hierarchy does not want it to happen.....But,......It will happen..... Think two teams. One in Michigan and one in Ohio......Just a matter of time....

The state of Alabama is more than welcome to have the Panthers, do you realize those idiots are paying Matt Rhule $834,000 a month for the next 48 months for doing absolutely nothing. Yeah.

    The answer is simple......
The low price for a ticket to an Auburn game is.....$11.
The average price for a ticket to an Auburn game is....$62.
The low price for a ticket to a U. of Alabama game is .....$39.
The average price for a ticket to a U. of Alabama game is....$157.

The average price for a ticket to an NFL game is......$457.
The lowest average price to an NFL game is.....$224.....THE LIONS.
    Followed closely at.....$282......THE BROWNS.

See what I'm saying about an Ohio and/or Michigan team relocating?...... The next state that will get a football team that doesn't have a football team now?.....UTAH!.....Salt Lake City is BOOMING!.....Look it up.....Big Money in Salt Lake City......It's going to happen......

    No money in Alabama.....

Why did the Cardinals leave St. Louis and move to Phoenix?
Why did the Rams leave St.Louis (and CLEVELAND! in 1945) and move back to L.A.?
    Humm.....🤔

As Horace Greeley said.....Way back in 1850.....
    GO WEST, YOUNG MAN.

    172 years later?.....Nothing Has Changed.....
Good Advise Is Good Advise..... It's Timeless.....

I can't speak for fellow Alabamians, but I don't want an NFL team...the heck with the NFL.

It's hard to get free agents to want to go there.

Agree. SEC football has the history and excitement that the NFL could never bring to Alabama.

True, but Utah Jazz did well with teams and fans.
