35% Tarriff sending Russian coins to the USA

It's not just stigma. From a Kunker email...

"We have been informed by US customs that there will be 35% punitive duty on the import of all Russian goods into the US.

We are informing you as a part of our customer service. Please let us know if you want us to ship anyway to the US.

If you want us to ship to an address in Germany please note that we then need to issue a new invoice with 17,5% buyers premium instead of 15%"

Well that’s going to depress Russian coin prices.

I hadn’t heard about that, but I guess it’s part of the war sanctions.

Not sure how many countries apply import tax to coins. South Africa does according to collectors I know there, around 14%. When selling, they frequently asked me to falsify the customs form which I declined to do.

Correct. After all, the best way to punish Putin is to tax coin collectors, right?
