    Nice Coin, Gonna go with 65 only thing I don’t like is that long gouge on the reverse

    Without the mark on the reverse I'd probably say 65... I'll go with 64. Nice coin whatever it is!

    I’ll be the party pooper who says Details—Scratched, because that reverse gouge is massive (starts in the field below “OF” and runs all the way to the bottom rim below the feather tips).

    Early folks were correct. This is a conditional rarity now....MS65. Our hosts did not mind the hit on the reverse as much as some of you. I wonder if it would have gone 66 or more without it? Crazy.

    Yes. It appears as a post-strike hit, unless you know something I don't.

    I thought the planchet might have been gouged before the strike, as it is under the devices and not above. It’s actually a pretty long semi circle.. any ideas of what happened?

    It’s not “under” the devices—the devices are incuse on the quarter eagle Indians.
