In his book, The Prince and The Emperors, a biography of Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi, Dov Zakheim writes: The Talmud records that when "Antoninus" died, Rebbe eulogized him with the words "The bond is snapped." Remarkably, Caracalla, known for his proclivity for violence, was considered well disposed to perhaps the most important Jewish leader of the time.
