question regarding usps shipping labels

jesbrokenjesbroken Posts: 10,046 ✭✭✭✭✭

I ship most everything via ebay usps labels, but when I want to ship something usps that is not thru ebay, is their a website that I can go to piecemeal(once every now and then) for a printable label and pay online without a membership of any kind.

Paypal now has a shipping section, not that hard to use. Only glitch I found is it is hard to get first class unless you have acceptable dimensions/weight.

The USPS website (www.usps.com). In the upper right corner, click "Register" to set up your username and password. Then click on "Click-N-Ship" under the QUICK TOOLS heading and you can make and pay for printable labels. You don't need to save your credit card info on the site.

Thank you, worked like a charm and already had an account from whenever.

I use pirateship, you do need to sign up for an account, but the rates are as low as you can get. They're great, yarr. Way cheaper than USPS's site.

probably saved me $$$ into the 4 figures and allowed me to ship multiples of dozens of items i would not have been able to otherwise. it is so awesome, i kinda wish they'd charge something weird like .25%-1% just because it is so great. it REALLY hits home on items in the 10-19 pound range but too big for any flat-rate.

on big/heavy items (under 20lbs), i have to charge a premium to get to the west coast as prices on larger/heavier items seems to have increased sometime in the past 24 months or so? i don't really recall using UPS or whatever for big items out west, so can't comment about that but i do know if you use UPS, MAKE SURE to finangle the numbers on dimensions of odd boxes as it can drop the price quite a bit. almost paid $14 to ship a golf club but watched a couple youtube vids and re-did the box and brought it down to $8.xx something. yay

not many instances i would use it for coins but with the comment above about express, i may have to check into that. :+1:

for the OP, i agree about usps site. messydesk has impressed me a few times over the years using their site to ship a multitude of coins with. especially regional boxes.

I shipped a lotta stuff with PirateShip, and yeah, a lot was express. Express is never cheap, but when CAC is shutting down every other month, every day helps.

As you know shipping labels printed on ebay can only be for an item sold. You can't create the label without a sale. Fortunately ebay label choices do include the Regional Flat rates (Regional A box is same size as a medium box but cheaper to ship).

Unfortunately one cannot purchase a Regional Flat Rate label on paypal. Surprised to learn that I couldn't even purchase Regional Rate label at the USPS Click 'n Ship site. Thanks for the Pirateship info, it does include Regional Flat Rate labels.

    Exit bunker, enter Matrix. LOL
