Is that textile toning on both sides? Nice pick up and maybe a 65?

    bob :)

I was thinking 64/65 as well. It does look like textile on the obverse.

That's exactly the type toning I like in a coin. Colorful, but very subtle. Beautiful Morgan!

Not a knock, but it might be considered Questionable color. Still a nice looking coin.

Looks more like envelope toning to me rather than mint bag toning.

That coin has great detail... MS65 I would say. Not a fan of tarnish, though that is not severe. I would likely dip it quickly if it were mine.... Maybe not, requires an 'in hand' evaluation. Cheers, RickO

I agree the blue looks a bit off, but my guess is the lighting and white balance aren’t quite right and I’m guessing that’s not the exact shade of the coin in hand. Not a guarantee of anything, but the coin shows strong pull away effects around the obverse devices, and that’s rarely mimicked with artificial toning.

I don’t see any textile. Top right above the bust looks like a partial print perhaps, but not textile.

I agree with @airplanenut. The pull away toning that is prominent at the date is a strong indicator of natural toning.

The problem isn't specifically the color, the bright images just showcase the fact the color is inconsistent. I hesitate to call it splotchy, but it's definitely not solid, and that is something PCGS has been notoriously tough on lately, as it can be indicative of AT.

I think this is something of a myth.

Pull away toning results from surface stress. Artificial toning, if light, is as likely as natural toning to respond to the stress.
