.....if you don't live in Kansas City or San Diego and turn on the tube to watch the game, it's gonna be in vain. no more 'regular tv' for thursday night games. gotta stream it via amazon prime. but the good news is that if you haven't been a prime member in the past 12 months, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial, which is what i did.

you're welcome in advance and enjoy the game!

I got $139 CC charge a couple weeks ago and I'm like what the hell is this? Yearly subscription for Amazon Prime that I must have signed up for a free trial and forgot about.

    I canceled it immediately.

I'm not paying to watch a Thursday night game, screw them for that money grab

    very weird game

first off, the duo of Al Michaels & Kirk Herbstreit was a strange one. at least initially. listening to Herb talk NFL grew on me as the game went along.

for about 2 1/2 quarters the Chargers were clearly the better team. then a few things happened. they lost a couple of crucial matter-of-inches plays in the 3rd quarter (one a Mahomes pass that was almost picked off in KC territory when SD was up 17-7, then a 3rd down KC touchdown that J.C. Jackson almost deflected but didn't, which trimmed the lead to 17-14). after that, the pick-6 thrown by Herbert when the game was tied and SD was on the doorstep was an absolute killer.

bottom line, SD had chances to dig the hole deeper when they got up, but they didn't. that allowed Mahomes to happen, and it eventually did. KC made the 2nd-half plays necessary to win, and the Chargers did not.

Bezo's sucks but so does the money grubbing NFL.
They interviewed Clark Hunt owner of the Chiefs during a pre season game and he was
all fired up about Amazon Prime doing the Thursday games. Of course you are rich boy.
Why don't you go get a job and do some actual work for once in your life.

I'm not signing up for free Amazon Prime or HBO or anything.
What they do at the end of the free period is they then bill you for subscribing to the channel
unless you call them and tell them to cancel the subscription. I've got too many other concerns
than try to remember to call them after 30 days.
Had a guy call me 3 weeks ago offering free HBO for a trial period. Told him to pound sand.
I told him exactly what was going to happen. After the trial period a subscription to HBO
was going to show up on my bill even though I did not authorize it.

Thanks Galaxy for the recap. I had to listen on the radio, but Mitch Holthus, voice of the Chiefs is phenomenal
    so it wasn't that bad.
Watched highlights on the NFL network when the game was over. Some pretty amazing plays by both teams.
Glad I wasn't able to get to a casino this week yet to place a bet. I was going to bet the over on points which
I believe was 54, they didn't get there so it saved me some money. :p

That's the ploy. Free trial, in hopes you either forget about the terms/end date being too busy with life's daily responsibilities. Or you become addicted to the service provided, and weaken to keep it.

one other thing i failed to mention

late in that game Herbert got lit up hard in the midsection. he gutted it out, but he was in so much pain that he did something i've never seen a QB do before. SD was down 10 points and had about a 3rd and 2. Herbert scrambled out of the pocket and could have waltzed his way to a 1st down, as there wasn't a KC defender in sight. but for some unknown reason he just unloaded the ball for an incompletion before he got to the sticks, and it had the look of a pass coming from someone who had been shot in the arm. a really bizarre play. my interpretation is that even though he could have easily gotten the first down and hit the deck without being touched, he didn't want to risk getting hit again because he was so injured.

That’s the whole year at a rate of $11.50 a month. When you signed up for the free trial you agreed to a year subscription, unless you canceled. Trust me when I saw the $139 I freaked out too thinking someone got into my bank account. I totally forgot about Amazon. Heck I forgot what I walked into a room for.

I know, I just got annoyed that they just didn't charge me month for month. I completely forgot about it obviously so if I decide to sign up I will buy it and try to.pay month for month if thats an option?

Regardless I have a very hard time paying this knowing that Thursday Night football is being prostituted out

The fee is paid yearly and if you understand that you're paying to watch Thursday Night Football then you're clearly missing something. As 2dueces states, the membership offers free shipping on anything purchased via Amazon and also Prime content streaming. It isn't hard to make it payoff and actually be a good deal.

Watching the game made me realize that eventually teams will realize they can't beat KC with field goals. That should have been the game plan for Staley since he like to go on 4th anyway, yet he flinched a few times. Driving the ball almost to the 10 yard line and then kicking the FG is a sure way to lose against a team that can score at any moment......................and did last night. That decision may have cost the Chargers the game.

@Maywood If you’re married that 5% off every order makes a difference. Considering my wife is on a first name basis with every delivery driver of every delivery service within 100 miles it helps.
    😂😂😂
Added bonus for my company Is when I order parts they get the 5% also. Maybe they should pay the fees. Hmmmm

    Some comments on the game...

If I'm going to be commenting on games, I just realized that I should take notes. I have not gone back and verified times or sequence, and I tend to forget when things took place. I apologize in advance. :D

I had not watched a significant amount of Herbert before last night. I have seen enough to know how good he is. Plus i always see highlights and read analysis. I like how the Chargers have built their team. As many of you know, they signed an amazing defensive player who had been with the Pats since 2018 as rookie. JC Jackson. This guy was very fun to watch in NE. He is considered one of the top defenders in the league. What made his story even more fun is that he was an undrafted free agent. The Chargers have built a juggernaut on both sides of the ball.

Watching the Chiefs, I am constantly brought back to memories of the day not long ago when Tom Brady was still a Patriot. This happens for two reasons. First, Brady and Mahomes did square off when Brady was in NE. The league tried to sell this as a changing of the guards. I guess it was in a way, with my team now flailing while Brady himself is still excelling...albeit for different colors in a different city. The second reason is that the Chiefs are the current organization best poised to become a dynasty (based on the fact that they recently went to multiple SBs and won one) and I can't help but think about the ups and downs the Pats went through in the early years of the dynasty. The week to week. I'm interested in seeing if the Chiefs can make it all come to fruition.

Early on the Chargers were sooooo dominant. I don't know a lot about betting, so I'm curious about something. When the score was Chargers 10-0, I thought to myself that the Chiefs were still going to win the game. Do things change in-game so as to make the Chargers a heavy favorite at that point? Anyway...

I know that everyone is talking about the pick six being such a turning point. But what about the overturned interception that let the Chiefs retain control of the ball and go on to score a TD?

The Chiefs had their chance to step in the Chargers throats by scoring a late TD. But they only managed a FG. This gave the Chargers enough hopium that they went down and scored a TD (with Herbert banged up as mentioned) putting us into an onside kick situation. And amazingly KC initially failed to properly secure the ball, almost giving the Chargers a good chance to tie it up. Which leads me back to the Chiefs failure to suffocate the Chargers when they had the chance to go up 14 instead of 10.

What I didn't know but found out during the broadcast is that Justin Herbert is 6'6" tall. I was really surprised. I've watched him play numerous times but he just doesn't seem that tall to me. Tom Brady and Josh Allen LOOK tall, but for some reason Herbert doesn't, at least not to me.
