What is the problem with using another icon. I read the thread listed above yesterday, and I do not understand the fuss. I am the one who put loaded this Rose icon that has since been used by at least one other and I do not see the problem. BKAH, can you shed some light on this for me.

    Sorry about the duplicate post.

It is only a problem for certain members who value their identity.

That someone would claim exclusive rights to an icon that he didn't create, just because he uploaded it to the CU forum, where it can be selected by anyone who wants to pick an icon, is lunacy, and I can't believe he's serious.

I think that we should each pick our own individual and personal icon instead of copying off someone else - there's lots to choose from.image

I sort of like the white box with the red x. Actually I'm too dumb to figure out how to put one up.

Bob, If you go to your "profile" (in the top right hand corner) after you login, you can chose an author icon.

brucemo - how do you feel about those of us who are upset when someone chooses an icon of our icon's enemy? Am I permitted to get upset if people come on the board with Broncos or Chiefs icons? image How about if people have San Diego Chargers icons? Oh, never mind the Chargers icons. I'd just laugh at those people anyway. image

As the member who was attacked by FatCat, I can assure you that he is serious. I agree with Bruces comments, but I changed my icon to get him off my back.

Read all of his comments on thread 2 above and you will see how serious he is.

  • Gomer- Love the NWO icon.

BKAH- I have a stupid question. I want to change my icon. I want one a picture with The World Trade Center. I didn't see one in the choices that CU offered during signup. Can you help me out?

    Thanks, Frank

I know the whole "ownershipf of icons" can get a little silly at times, but we begin to identify our "friends" (at least the people we like) with their icons...

Am I the only person here that ALWAYS thinks of VARGHA whenever I see the "spinning tornado"?

Wayne should pick another so he can establish his own identity...

Wayne's icon is dynamic, in a constant state of change. Details of his identity can be found at the top of the 1965 Topps registry.

  • bigkid - I will be changing the icon. I had just made a wise crack about using other's icons yesterday and in doing so switched mine to Vargha's.

oh sorry - did not mean to slam you - but nice to see you agree that our icons become our "face" if you will, and when there are others with the same "face" or look, it is disturbing (and confusing).

  • Incredible, a topic with my last name as the topic, and I don't even get the chance to reply before it turns into a discussion about icons! Only on the set registry forum, baby!
