Hi hunters,
What in the world do you guys make of this?
This has happening quite often now. All 1983's! And NOT BU too. I can see if they were "customer wrapped". However, these are supposedly, from the Feds. Something new now coming from the Feds? Are they screening coins now? Has this occurred with you guys, as well?
Thanks.

You think they're coming from the Fed? They all look circulated. Do circulated coins come from the Fed? My first thought is that they came from a coin rolling company. Does the Fed roll their coins in N.F. String & Son Inc, wrappers? I don't know, I'm just asking.
Could someone have dumped a whole lot of 83's and they just happened to get wrapped at the same time?
Must be that someone was hoarding half dollars by date, and then dumped them.
New to me. I find my best 90% halve hunt with loose coins or customer rolled coins. Just yesterday:
ME: Got any loose or rolled half dollars?
TELLER: All I've got is two half dollars. Want 'em?
ME: Sure, here's a dollar.

Watch out Joey - They are trying to screw up your coin searching by saving worthless boxes just for you - I knew it, it's a conspiracy theory I tell you -

I remember, about a month ago. Same thing happen to me. Although, they were ALL 1976P's?
And yes, they were from" N.F. String & Sons".
Strange???

If those are from the rolls you posted in the other thread (photo below) they clearly have been opened on one end and are not original bank wrapped.
Searched & sorted by another collector and re-rolled.
I'm surprised with how many rolls you search you didn't see how one end looks different.
@ifthevamzarockin 's right. The picture above shows re-wrapped rolls with the exception of 2 to the top right which are probably re-wrapped on the other end.

I think old Joey is trying to pull a fast one on us!! 😂 🤣
You know what?
You are exactly correct! Wow! Didn't catch that, mman. Yes, that's it. Being such a avid CRHunter, I admit, I should of seen this myself.
Thank You, All.

This tells us it's time for you to slow down or take a break. It might be time to regroup. 😉
Could have been me, but I am not in your area. I carefully open one end, push them through and reuse the bank roll wrappers for the halves, then turn them in. I could not get enough half dollar wrappers to reroll the coins during covid.
I put a dot with a marker on them so I can tell if I ever get them back. Cheers.
My guess would be a customer returned a hoard of 83’s to the bank and they turned around and sold them to you. CRH is a gamble, sometimes you get downright lucky, not in this case.
Yeah, this time. Still, no money lost. The good results
ALWAYS blots out all the bad hunts.
Thx.
