Is he the only all time great running back born west of Texas ?
Please don’t say Reggie Bush. I’m talking top 25 only. Not sure if Marcus Allen is top 25.

Kudos on the title. Well-played, sir.
I know a lot of great running backs that came out of Texas but little known 2 of the greatest were born in Wichita Kansas
Barry Sanders
Gale Sayers
Chuck Muncie?
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
Flat Tires Lynch?
Marcus Allen
Beast Mode, Oakland
Chuck Muncie, PA
When I was a kid me and my buddies would refer to Muncie as "powerhouse"
If Marcus Allen isn't top 25 that must be one unbelievable top 25 list.
Of the 31 running backs who have reached 10,000 yards rushing, these are the ones born west of Texas/Kansas:
14 - Marcus Allen - San Diego CA
18 - Steven Jackson - Las Vegas NV
20 - Corey Dillon - Seattle WA
21 - OJ Simpson - San Francisco CA
29 - Marshawn Lynch - Oakland CA
31 - Ricky Williams - San Diego CA

Here's another interesting fact:
Of the Top-50 running backs (in rushing yards), only five played for only one team in their careers; 45 of the Top 50 RBs played for more than one team:
Walter Payton - Bears
Barry Sanders - Lions
Jim Brown - Browns
Tiki Barber - Giants
Freeman McNeil - Jets

Besides J. Bettis, who else was born north of N.J., Nebraska, and California ? Franco Harris was born in N.J., or went to high school in N.J.
Muncie as a child on the farm in PA was run over by a tractor. Shattered both legs. Doctors patched him up and said he'd never be able to walk again.
Then in JC he runs a 9.4 100 in the early 70's. That's when a 9.4 meant something. That's O.J. fast.
Cal grey shirts him at a JC in AZ until he learns how to read and write his name. He wasn't too keen for the books.
Since there was never any film of him, he was listed on the program as 5'11" & 199lbs. But he was really 6'3" And 240lbs. Opposing teams saw him run for the first time and had a nervous breakdown. Who is this guy?
Arte Gigantino(asst coach) used to go pick him up at the house and drive him to practice. About 30+ miles. Chuck would always have a blunt on the ride to school. Many times after a game or classes(?) he had nowhere to go if he missed his ride home. We had a study room/make out room in the basement of the frat with a couch and many a night Muncie crashed there. He kept things there because he had nowhere else to go. No one in the house smoked but you could sure tell when Muncie was present. All of us brothers did our own breakfast and that included Muncie cooking up some eggs and toast.
It's not everyday that I see an OJ Simpson thread started around here, so let me just leave this here. I thought it was well done.
