Sadly the pac-12 blew the only two chances it had to prove how tough they are this year, and USC doesn’t have any tough non-conference games.
Well, as explained above, Oregon was in too deep to start with Georgia in Georgia for reasons stated and they are now adjusting to their new system well. Pac-12 just whipped #11 and #12 easily, so the analytics, not the politics of the East Coast sports pundits, shows Pac-12 is showing bright. Utah, lost by 3 points in Florida in game 1. Game 1's don't make the season, so........... I think also the Pac-12 showing against well ranked teams in week 3 is an indication of the quality of the upper end of the conference, and even the pundits took note. You will see 4, possibly 5 Pac-12 teams ranked this week, possibly 2 in the top 10 and 3 in the top 15.
Pac-12 have 4 teams that can make the playoffs depending on if one of them wins out in the Pac-12 games, they will be in. No one is going to hold Georgia against Oregon if they win out rest of season. No one is going to hold a 3 point loss to Florida against Utah if they win out the rest of the season.
USC having patsy preconference games? Bad move by them, but I suspect they won't win out in Pac-12 competition anyway, I am thinking Oregon or Utah, hopefully the former.
After week 3, here is the rankings for Pac-12 via Sagarin analytics. His rankings are usually fairly accurate for any given time:
7 USC
10 Utah
12 Oregon
15 Washington
Top 4 teams of the Pac-12 using Sagarin analytics compares well with the top 4 for the SEC, Big 10 and Big 12:
Sagarin top 15:
4 SEC
4 Big 10
4 Pac 12
2 Big 12
1 ACC
Oregon has the highest ranking for SOS in the top 15 at #16. Next is Penn State at #28, then Georgia at #33.
So we will see how this plays out over the season. Keep in mind the majority of the top teams from each league play mostly patsies in the preconference games so that kind of skews the analytics. Only a few play tough non-con games - Oregon, Utah, and UDub are among those that did play tougher teams............

Ducks score 29 in 4th qtr in Pullman, Cougs coaching was spectaclar, but talent won in the end. Bo Nix, 428 yds passing 3 TD's. Yup Pac 12 is tough top to bottom................
I don't know about a Top 5-10-25, so I'll leave it at the following:
1. Georgia.
2-4. Alabama, Ohio State and Michigan in no specific order.
5-25. everyone else.
watching a few games yesterday and some highlights this morning it seems there are some things that will need a few weeks to straighten out. The next several weekends should show better competition between more equal teams, things will shuffle around and the cream will start to rise.

This is perfectly stated, except Bama and Michigan have big questions to answer sooner rather than later.
1 Alabama
2 Ohio State
3 Georgia
4 Oklahoma
5 Michigan
6 Utah
7 Southern California
8 LSU
9 Penn State
10 Minnesota
11 Washington
12 Clemson
13 Mississippi
14 Baylor
15 Oregon
That is, as it was last week:
4 SEC
4 Big 10
4 Pac 12
2 Big 12
1 ACC
Oregon moves up to #6 in Schedule Difficulty. Closest to that in top 15 is Ohio State at #20. I don't think MooSC is going to win the Pac-12. They squeaked by the Beavs who played great with the exception of their qb w/4 Ints. Not too many teams are going to win with that many interceptions by their qb, so the fact that they still almost beat MooSC indicates that either A, the Beavs are better than most believe, or B, MooSC is not as good as most believe........
So looks like it will come down to Ducks, Utes, or Huskies as possible playoff rep for the Pac 12. But the Trojans, Bears, Beavs, Coogs, and Bruins will all have a say in which. Solid 8 teams in the Pac 12 this year, and if anyone comes out with just 1 loss and wins the Pac-12 championship game, they are likely in the playoffs. Problem is, when team 1 is only slightly better than team 8, etc. for teams 2-7, makes it tough to do. League depth like this has hurt the Pac 12 for playoff consideration for years resulting in no team making it out with just one or no, losses.

That’s like saying f the Jews or Christians.
No conference has ever been great top to bottom.
Maybe not, but one year the BIG TEN went 7-1 in the bowls
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!

8 SEC teams in the AP top 25.
Kentucky at #8 is a miracle for that program. Many 0-8 SEC seasons in their history.
Things will change, but the top 4 looks good for now.
Thats every year. Why people call it the sec top 25. Florida, Texas A@M and Ole miss have no business in the top 25.

Or spewing racist epithets like BYU fans have done to Duke players?

Why did you say Florida and not include Utah ?
Test for echo.
What a sad image from the RoseBowl...
I can see Bob Uecker there yelling from the upper tier that the tuba player in the band missed a step as well as hitting the wrong note.
I suspect Red Sanders turned in his grave once the attendance number was announced.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
