I spoke to Steve this week and we are going to put something together next week consisting of about 35 boxes. I will post details in the next few days and will start an official thread when everything is arranged. Even better news: Steve has been kind enough to provide the old 10% discount for this break, too!

I read some kind of explanation somewhere recently on this, but hoping someone could confirm. Terms for BBCE boxes:
FASC is of course FASC.
'Unopened Box' means it's a box that didn't come from a sealed case but has the original packs in the box.
'36 pack box' designates.... yeah it's a box with 36 packs in it, but the packs could have been combined from other boxes etc.. aka Frankensteined which allows for sequence dudes to really muck up a box.
Is this correct ?
Would these descriptors be included in the group break descriptions ?

thank you anyone.
FASC means the box was pulled straight from a case by Steve and wrapped by BBCE.
All other boxes consist of 24 or 36 packs which have been deemed unopened and authentic by Steve. We are not breaking Fleer basketball here and collation within the pack for vintage boxes can fluctuate significantly from pack to pack. As many of those who have bought boxes from Steve in the past can also attest, even packs with stars on front and/or back can be found in non FASC boxes from BBCE.

Here is a list of the boxes we are requesting for the group break. Please keep in mind these per pack prices do not include the 10% discount so the prices will be reduced to reflect that when the break goes live. I think this list includes a nice mix of higher and lower priced boxes to fit all budgets, and we also have a few FASC boxes for those who want packs that have not seen the light of day since leaving the assembly line at the factory the year of issue. Steve is also going to offer wrapping options for the 1984 football rack box. This is not a final list and I will need to check with Steve to confirm all these boxes are still in stock.

Thanks Grote for the input. Inquiring here as I bought a BBCE 1983 Topps baseball cello box a few years ago (using this as an example as it's in the list above) and the box looked all fine, but.. mid way in the box, there were 3 packs with price stickers on them. No other packs, just those three. Sooo, the box was put together from other boxes. To note, and significant, there were no Boggs, Sandbergs, or Gwynns out of the whole box. It's possible, but percentage wise, not high to not get at least one of the three. If 1983 topps sequencing exists, this was a case of packs being removed and replaced.
There is a difference between 'unopened box' and '36 pack wax box'. They are not the same from BBCE and I believe BBCE stated this somewhere. Would not want to buy in on a '36 (or 24) pack box'.

That designation you are referring to in the last part of your post is used for 86 Fleer basketball boxes where sequence is much stricter, not with any of these boxes.
A non FASC box simply consists of 24 or 36 authentic packs within the box. We have had great success over the years, both with stars showing on front or back of the packs in such boxes and stars pulled from within these packs, but if that's not your cup of tea you can simply request packs from the FASC (or OPC tape intact boxes which are essentially FASC) boxes instead should you decide to participate.

Good stuff. FYI the 81 football cello price looks like was divided by 36 and not 24.
Good catch. I calculated on the baseball part and copied and pasted someone else's post for the football and hockey boxes. I will revise. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi John, Yes the official thread will be posted separately when the break is live. It will be at the usual time of 9 pm EST and there will be a 2-pack limit per box for the first 48 hours, a 2-pack limit per box for the next 48 hours, before opening up after 96 hours. It will probably be next weekend or so, but I will post the exact date of the break in this thread before the official thread is posted.

Just a heads up, the group break will be happening. I am working with Steve on the finalization of boxes for the break and will be posting details soon along with advance notice for the scheduled time of the break.
There will be one significant difference with this break in light of BBCE's new invoicing process (some of you who have sent items for authentication and wrapping in recent months may already be familiar with this process). Instead of sending payments via Paypal directly to BBCE, Steve has asked for all participants to email their contact info and shipping addresses to bbcexchange@sprintmail.com at the conclusion of the break so that BBCE can send you an invoice for payment. I will post these details again once the break goes live.

The pack appears to be fake as there are cards from other series, many of the cards do not look pack fresh, and there were no stars out of the 54 cards but I have never gone near a 1971 pack so what do i know.
