Willie Stargell Jumbo Patch ~~~ Red & White ????

steel75steel75 Posts: 1,601 ✭✭✭✭

I'm a sucker for game used jumbo patches, bat barrells, etc...........but when did the Pirates have RED?
Any answers I have missed?

Probably from an all-star game. They used to have an old-timers game associated with it.

  • I believe that is the first 2/2 card I have ever seen.

  • Pops was the first base coach for the Braves from '86-'88 so this is likely from that era. It may be from an all-star game jersey, but I don't believe there's any possible way it's from a Bucs jersey.

    the mystery is solved... :)

  • The card certainly looks odd with a picture of his jersey from his playing days (all with the same team) and the patch being from the jersey of a totally different team. At least it makes for a good conversation/trivia piece.

Looks like no one is paying for conversation/trivia

I have seen a Killebrew "Game Used Patch" card on ebay that shows a green colored piece of material.

I don't think it was from Washington, Minnesota or Kansas City. Apparently he was a coach for Oakland for a while?

    I didn't bother to bid.

Same here. Was a big fan of Stargell & the Pirates, but have little interest in that patch.
