I was going to say that in Makena I see parrots following the Monarch Butterfles around the White Heliotrope trees. I'm sure they are doing the same in Wailea.
A month or so ago I was on the phone with someone, I'd let my canary out of the cage, but fortunately no open windows or doors. No sound after I got off the phone, I looked everywhere, nothing. Finally an hour or two after giving up he pops up in the apartment.
Last year a racoon broke through a screen window and got one of the canaries in the middle of the night, very upsetting. Management hired a company to rid the racoons of housing.
Very sorry to hear of your missing pet and hope he comes home.

Totally respect PF's decision not to post any longer but I have to share with anyone else still here that this is the first thread I check each morning, hoping against hope that her Mango came home. I'm heartbroken for her.

Many of the stories I read said the 3rd day is the most common day for them to come back.
I saw a Youtube vid of a guy that got his bird back 3 years later.

The house below the Kihei PoPo might be of some help. Corner of Kanai Rd and Halona St. Maybe Mango followed their birds there.
