I have two of them, both in NGC holders now. One purchased raw at a show in Detroit about 20 years ago.
There is a great two-piece article in Coin World starting on 5/29/95.
They have always been tough to find, especially the older ones. I started work at GM about 10 years after this "experiment" but didn't know about them until years later. By then, the trail was pretty cold.
I need to dig them out and get better photos, but here are the thumbnails.

I would have thought that they were darkside pieces.

I bought this piece way back in the 1980s. Later sent it to ANACS. I knew when I bought it that it was cleaned but how could I refuse it. It was in a dealers junk box for $5.00
