Maybe, if there is enough time left. As for total bases, the great Hank Aaron is over 700 total bases ahead of Pujols, so Hank's record may be safe for all time.

    Pujols now at 695
Albert Pujols rocketed a two-run homer in the 8th to move within one of Alex Rodriguez for 4th all-time and five of the magical 700!

697! Albert Pujols alone in 4th place
Bonds. Aaron. Ruth. Pujols. The Cards legend took sole possession of fourth place on the all-time homer list with No. 697,

Pujols gets his 2,200 RBI last night, only the 3rd player in history, along with Hank Aaron (and I include Babe Ruth).

Along with his 700th homer, Pujols became just the 3rd player in MLB history to reach 1,400 extra base hits. He is also just 6 RBI's away from moving past Babe Ruth into 2nd place (although Ruth's RBI's aren't official, apparently - still, they calculate he would've had 2,214). Pujols has 2,208.

This guy really snuck up on me. I didn't realize he had that many homeruns.

  • There are no words to describe the sadness I felt when Albert hit 699 and 700 on the same night.

The friggin game was apple TV so I couldn't watch...I COULDN'T WATCH!

The next morning, the headlines. I was so mad! I've followed Pujols since day one and I've tracked his career, not fan boy level, but I did follow and as he inched closer to 700 my excitement level increased and in steps apple friggin tv!!!

Couldn't even watch the late night replay because of their broadcasting rights.

I'm hoping, it's a long shot I know, that the Cards make it the WS.

With 3 RBI's today, Pujols tied Babe Ruth for 2nd place on the RBI list, with 2,214. Only Hank Aaron has more RBI's.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit if Pujols would play the 2023 season long
enough to get 715 HRs. Just sayin'.

Yes. But he has made it clear that this is his last year.

He had his mind made up before this resurgent season. I could see him coming back to top the Babe. he seems to be having fun.
