I spaced this yesterday and forgot to order. Was happy to see on my blinding screen at 3am that they were still available. I anticipated a quick sellout.

Each year I anticipate this being like other products that have a potential for an immediate sellout. It NEVER pans out that way. I even turned down a golf outing (more than once) which I really like, and it was for nothing each time . Its usually available for quite a while.

Sounds like you're going golfing on release day next year... And sure as can be, that's the time they'll sell out within 30 minutes.
"It's like God, Family, Country, except Sticker, Plastic, Coin."
But mine is already here !!! and going to our hosts tomorrow for gold shield grading as it looks excellent.
Tried a quick picture, but the reflectivity on the winged Liberty with the relief, is like a mirror and I get distracting reflections of surroundings. The reverse eagle is truly a beauty, very sharp details.

Repeating these finishes is a buzz kill.
I see your point, and kinda thinking the same. But - what about something like proof ASE or AGE? ... SAME coin every year (apart from a type change), just a different date.

Mine was due yesterday, but delayed to today. Eventually I'll send it in with my '22 Proof Buffalo (both need Express service).

IMHO
Collectors expect, and accept, the fact that the base numismatic versions of the ASE and AGE will be the same every year (i.e., Proof and Uncirculated).
With the APdE, there was some novelty associated with the changing finish each year on the numismatic offering. This has diminished now that the finishes are repeating.

A little underwhelmed with mine. There seems to be some rim-chatter on the obverse, from the E to the T in Liberty (on a $3k+ coin?!? c'mon!!! ). Hard to tell how bad, as some may be reflection of the edge-reed on the capsule? Of the 4 Pd's I have, 2 got 69, and the last 2 graded 70. I think 69 is the best I can hope for on this one.
I'd send it back for another, but no guarantees that'd be any better, and per the other recent post, it looks like its going up in price.
No pics, as I've proven to myself anything would be too blurry to show the detail.

If you go to mint website and ask for a return on your order page and say unacceptable damaged coin and click the exchange box, they should also even email you a paid return label. It might be worth it, and they normally do not charge more for an exchange and they have plenty in stock. You might get lucky, but it takes a while so you might not get it back for first strike grading, if that matters to you at all. Good luck.
@Goldminers The rim-stuff on the reverse top and bottom is kinda what I see on mine (maybe a bit more so on mine). So I may have a shot at RP69. I'll send mine in next year probably ($121 - Express, oof).
Yours looks great!

Now that I look again, yes, the reverse rim on mine does have both chatter and uneven width. I spent too much time looking for flaws on the rest of the coin. Now I know what to look for. LOL
On my 2017 Palladium Eagles I saw that rim chatter even at a graded PCGS 70.
Which I sent back for a replacement. Second attempt from the dealer was much nicer.
Our hosts are being mighty tough on some of these issues.
I sent a flawless Palladium Reverse Proof and the dreaded PR69.
No way my coin is a 69—no time chatter, nothing. I think the spicket has shut down after all the dealer 70’s were graded.

If you are referring only to the palladium, this should be no surprise.
How many buyers are buying it predominantly as a collectible?
My answer is "not many". It's predominantly bought for financial reasons, as a quasi-collectible with the intent of profiting from an increase in both the spot price and collectible premium.
The product limits on these aren't low either, not at this price point. How many other coins have this many survivors in this quality selling in this price range? The only others are (mostly or exclusively US) NCLT and the most common pre-1933 US gold.
When I read about supposed "low" mintages on modern NCLT, it reminds me of previous comments I read years ago on the First Spouse series. There is every reason to believe the vast majority of buyers are (and were) financial speculators buying it for the supposed scarcity while the supply was a multiple of those who actually wanted it as a collectible.
I can see that buyers like the design. Problem is that as an actual collectible, it's not competitive with other similarly priced coinage. The sellouts I am aware of are all lower and (mostly) nominally priced where it's affordable to a large collector base. Even here though (such as for various ASE), there is still presumably a high proportion of financially motivated buying, often in multiple.
This one isn't affordable to most collectors and it's not interesting enough on its actual collectible merits either.
Good points WCC! Well written, well thought out analysis.
I feel fortunate I started buying in 2017 and nowhere near the current price point. I have all finishes. I stopped when it got prohibitively more expensive.
They are undoubtedly some of the most beautiful coins I own with differing finishes and so I will keep them and let the appreciation be in my appreciation.
The United States Mint just lowered the 2022 Palladium Reverse Proof coin to $2,550.00
That is the Lowest level in 141 weeks for any Palladium coin.
The Last time United States Mint Palladium Proof coins were this low was w/e 05/17/2020…
Palladium around $1700 today. I just can't get myself to press "ORDER" with a 50% markup on the coin. I do like the overall direction that Palladium is heading.

The 2022 Palladium Reverse Proof will go Up to $3,100.00 or $3,150.00 tomorrow on the Mint’s website (unless something Drastic happens)…

The 2022 Palladium Reverse Proof has been repriced at $3,150.00
You nailed this. Up a hundred dollars. How many are even left? The last ones are stalling...the new repricing won't help.
From the Mint website, at the time of this post:

1951 remain.
Three days since my last post and 1934 remain.
Still available and still pricey 😁
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
So, it looks like the 2022 rev proof is at 5,586 and very slowly increasing. This makes the 2021 proof the lowest mintage "key" at 5,169.

This was graded VERY fast! Of course, it costs $121! to just grade one. I did not see anything wrong, but came back a PR69 to add to my losses:(

Hard to say for sure on the coin posted above, but the problem area could be on the neck of Liberty (just below the hair area)

Very tempting......
Very tempting, indeed. In this issue, I would prefer a graded 69.
I prefer ALL of the Pd Eagles displayed in a slab.
The RP remains my fave.
@Onastone
It is getting interesting down at $2850. I was hoping the $1700's was going to hold until Wednesday price adjustment day but it didn't.

Rounding out the year...$2700 !!! Far cry from it's high this summer of $3150.
The RP version is liquid looking like it's molten and alive, just saying. Bought one of each from the start, this is my favorite.
