i have a dollar bill with serial number 13781776

on 7-8-1776 the declaration of independence came back from printing and it was read, for the very first time, to the public at the Penn state house (now independence hall). the liberty bell possibly rang 13 times for the 13 colonies.

in anyones opinion, should i try to sell the bill or sit on it for a while

Bit of a stretch. Now if it was 07041776, you could probably get some sort of premium, but if you have to provide an explanation for anyone to understand beyond the most diehard US history scholar, probably not. Plus, if it's not in crisp, UNC condition, you're in for a real challenge trying to find a buyer

If you want to go through the hassle, maybe some inexperienced collector on ebay will give you a couple bucks for it. Feeling lucky?
