I've been a Ryan collector for a while, and the prices for the last 2 years have gone insane like everything else. Unlike everything else high grade Ryans just keep going up and up. It priced me out of the 70s stuff and now I'm priced out of early 80s.
to my eye it looks a bit oc as well doesn't it? it could be my eyes
but there appears to be more border on right then left
beautiful card though

collecting RAW Topps baseball cards 1952 Highs to 1972. looking for collector grade (somewhere between psa 4-7 condition). let me know what you have, I'll take it, I want to finish sets, I must have something you can use for trade.
looking for Topps 71-72 hi's-62-53-54-55-59, I have these sets started
I say buy what you like - but definitely not how I would spend $10K. Of course a PSA 8, 8.5 or 9 of say Jim Bunning’s 4th year card is probably not how the winner spends their hobby dollars. The price of 10s has gone astronomical especially on anyone people tend to call GOATs (which is a misnomer because each sport only has one GOAT and people don’t only say it about Babe Ruth). I still call them Legends.

Could be one of 3 possible scenarios: market manipulation as mentioned above, or also could be due to an investor or TRIAPD.

Print dot above the A in AL is distracting. PSA 9s trading under $350.
You are correct. 9’s for $300 or this 9.1 for $10k. I am sure it is real, amd surprised the usual price pumpers that come on the board have not made sure everyone knows the “record” price foe this one. I can see every now and then letting folks know of a unique high end sale, but not every time some that does it 🙄

Don't worry, the card will be back up for auction in a couple days. I can't tell you how many Probstein high end cards end up being re-auctioned. They must have the most non-paying bidders in the history of eBay.

It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
That's unreal!

Edge chipping must not go against the "FLAWLESS" tag.
Yeah......I immediately went to look at my 9..........I won't even say it.

That is my favorite Topps card of Nolan.

As much as I'd love to add that 1980 to my run, I'd rather spend $10K on a perfectly centered 1968 PSA 8........and have a few bucks left over

Kiss me twice.....let's party.

buying O-Pee-Chee (OPC) baseball

Noticeable bottom edge chipping in several spots, lots of print marks near the all star tab, and left/right centering a little off.
I'm sure you can upgrade your existing card without paying 10K for a ten on the label.
Agreed, but I have an even harder time with the one on his right ankle above the shoe tongue.
That circle on his right ankle is actually "diagnostic", aka on every card. It's even on all the O-Pee-Chee Ryans.
Steve
May be more of an 8.9 than a 9.1….
does anyone else think that card is just swimming around in that holder?
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Uh…36 psa 10’s. Wow.
Here are a couple of actual low pop Ryan’s
Now that you mention it that is a lot of space in the holder. We call that one a “rattler” 🤣
opc psa 10 sold for $1600 two months ago, pop 10.
this one is pop 36. this sale makes 0 sense to me. there are tons more to be graded.

That's interesting; I hadn't heard or noticed that before, thanks!
Maybe Curt Schilling was the high bidder...
Mine too. I love the OPC card with the different team name.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
Ignore list -Basebal21
I've got this one:
one of my favorite ryan cards the 82 topps.
you could be correct.
