Well that was Interesting! Anybody ever have this happen?

Evening,

Bidding on a Non Sport Complete Set of raw cards, bidding was up to $271.88 (My Winning bid with 2 hours left) and I was my highest bid. I also had two back up bids of $305.77 and $325.88. With about 3 seconds left in the Auction, my Screen Rolls, does some weird shake and then comes back to the Auction with this message at the Top of the page;

"Please Standby, E-Bay is determining who won this Auction, Please wait, then, Refresh this page to see who won! I waited 5 seconds refreshed and they told me I won at $271.88!

Huh?, Anybody have a reasoning for this, does it have to do with Snipe Bids?

Yup. Happened to me about 20 minutes ago. I won for my high bid to the penny and got the same message. Refresh to see if you won. Fortunately I did. But felt a little strange as you say.

Had same experience except for the refresh message Sunday night on an item I did not win

I've had it happen multiple times, so it just seems 'normal' to me now.

Are you using a sniping program or straight browser bidding?

Straight browser bidding, only bidder and got the same thing the last time I won an auction back in June. Didn't know what was going on.
