Found some type of token in my backyard.

I found an old token in my backyard this week. It's about the size of a Half-Dollar and made of a bronze alloy, has an ornamental design around the rim on both sides, has large numbers "294" on one side and is uniface to probably allow for engraving. I suspect it's from the 1930's give or take, any idea what it may have been?? Thanks for any help.

How about pictures??
Sounds like a dog tag? Worker tag for mining? Love to see pics.

Hard to say without photos. Are the numbers 'stamped' in as with a punch? If so, could be a hat, coat, or tool check token for some business.
Pictures aren't coming and really wouldn't help, the description is what it is. I'll add that the meager design elements are struck, not engraved or punched. My first thought was a dog tag, but absent a hole for suspension I dismissed that.
??
If you can't manage photos that's fine, but pictures always help.
An image might conjure up a memory or the exact style of the design elements might suggest a specific time period, etc.
If pictures won't help, neither will we.

Not even a cell phone pic, huh? Maybe it's an electricians slug.

Could be a cattle tag maybe?

I've never had a cell phone and don't own a camera, I would hope that wouldn't be held against me. Thanks to everyone for their help.
Not holding anything against you, just not likely to be able to help without photos or a defining/diagnostic feature.

Coat check was my first guess based on the description. Your other options seem plausible too.
Perhaps make a pencil lead tracing on paper, just a thought.

Well then informational help will also be what it is. Withoutout pictures it's all just WAG's

Nothing is being held against. You are describing a coin that could possibly just be environmental damage that would look like millions of other coins. Pics are a necessity to see what you are describing! In this day and age, hard to realize someone that doesn't have a cell phone or a friend or relative that does.

Maybe even a hotel room key tag.
@Maywood
What you do not seem to realize is that we would love to help you, it's what we love the most, but without a photo I feel it is wasted effort.
