India seems to have a healthy, robust relationship with precious metals. This chunky little beast, issued by Manilal Chimanlal Co. of Bombay, was apparently used as cash--being deposited and withdrawn as needed from funds and metals on account by clients of banks. NGC's "Extra Thick" slab--same size but nearly twice the thickness.

That's really cool and I have never seen one of these before. The extra thick holder also looks really neat and pairs up nicely with the piece.

You occasionally see them in auctions over here. I didn't realize they were that thick!
