I just want to say, PCGS has been very responsive to opening and checking in packages lately. That's not to say they are grading fast but at least I can rest easy knowing they are checked in and under their observation. And I can start checking daily for updates 😅😜

The other tpg seems to leave packages in their warehouse for a week or more sometimes... Especially annoying when you paid for expedited service.

From what I have seen before they have a huge backlog. What an agonizing and complicated task to do everything on a daily basis.

What are the current turnaround times from the receipt of orders to shipping them back, for each company’s “expedited” service?

@MFeld I believe pcgs is 20 days according to their website, and the other tpg is like 5 days.

That doesn’t quite jive with what you wrote about packages being left in the warehouse for a week or more sometimes. My point was, as far as many of us are concerned, what counts is turnaround time from receipt to return shipment, not how quickly or slowly the coins are logged into the system.

That's true. But don't underestimate the number of paranoid people here that worry about every step.

@MFeld the other tpg specifically states that the turnaround time starts upon receipt of the package, however that doesn't jive with the actual turn around times. When a turn around is supposed to be 5 days and they don't even log in the package for over a week, they are obviously behind. I can confirm they received the package through their tracking number tool but it sits there for several days before they open it.

I don’t underestimate that - it’s why I wrote “as far as many of us are concerned..” instead of just saying “what counts is…”.😉

I asked about the actual turnaround times of each company. I don’t claim to know what they are, but I wouldn’t be concerned with how long it takes to log coins in, just how long after the coins arrive there, they’re returned.

Well if they don't even check them in until after the supposed turn around time, they obviously aren't meeting that expected turn around. At least with PCGS, checking them in in a timely fashion they at least still have a chance to come close or even exceed the estimate.

I understand that. You might want to read some additional threads on estimated vs. actual turnaround times.

I guess a guy can't just appreciate the way one company does things over another without it being a hude deal. Got it.
