I was a little surprised they didn’t want to keep anything, even the notes from grandma. They for sure aren’t hurting for money, so it’s not about that. Makes me reconsider leaving my coins to my kids one day 😂
There are a lot of people who just do not care about genealogy or the fact that a family member owned something. It can also be difficult as a collector to understand how other people dont care at all about what you love. I handed a friend who was at my house a fairly expensive coin, she barely took a glance at it and handed it back to me and went back to Instagram on her phone. Now if i had told her what it was worth....lol

It breaks my heart to see the family sell a coin from 1870 with a hand written note from great grandma to pick up a few dollars. How sad. I wish I had something like this from a grandparent.
