No proof sets from the 70's ??? I cant believe it.

Lol, there’s actually only one, from 1969. Anything special about it?

Is the corner of that dollar bill folded under or is it torn off? If it is torn off, how badly does it hurt the value of the note?

Sorry, I overlooked this somehow, it is just folded over.

Not super valuable stuff. Be cooler if they were to find a pic of great grandma and put that, the note, the coins in a frame or shadowbox and kept it in the family in a nice display.

I was a little surprised they didn’t want to keep anything, even the notes from grandma. They for sure aren’t hurting for money, so it’s not about that. Makes me reconsider leaving my coins to my kids one day 😂

There are a lot of people who just do not care about genealogy or the fact that a family member owned something. It can also be difficult as a collector to understand how other people dont care at all about what you love. I handed a friend who was at my house a fairly expensive coin, she barely took a glance at it and handed it back to me and went back to Instagram on her phone. Now if i had told her what it was worth....lol

  • Some pretty neat finds in there!

It breaks my heart to see the family sell a coin from 1870 with a hand written note from great grandma to pick up a few dollars. How sad. I wish I had something like this from a grandparent.
