Sports Autographs

I bought an autographed football recently and had it shipped to the UK. It was too good to be true, three superstars having perfectly signed it, and a made up COA. So I went top drawer and bought a witnessed signing football.

I’ve been looking for a football or helmet signed by a famous coach. It has PSA authentication - is this worth it?

Can the authentication be forged? I saw an item on eBay with a PSA serial number. Then the same item and serial number advertised by a dealer for twice the money.

It feels as though the field of autographed sports items is a bit murky. I’m not looking to collect, I bought the football for a dear friend, and I would like one signature for myself, but it’s tough to feel comfortable with some of the promises made.

Do you really want to spend money on this type of thing? Sports autographs are so heavily faked I am surprised the market still wants them at all.

    All glory is fleeting.

Well I did. There must be some genuine ones, right?

Your best bet would be an IN PERSON autograph.
