Is this $2 bill actually worth $1,000?
I have absolutely no knowledge of the value of US currency and that is why I'm asking this question. I found this $2 bill in a locked cabinet a flea market this weekend. The indicated value on the bill inside the case was $1,000. My question is what is the actual value of this $2 bill. I would appreciate it if anyone that is knowledgeable with US currency could educate me on the value of this bill.

I don’t believe so. Some of the 1928D $2 LT Mules (B-A block) have been known to sell for over $1,000, but I don’t believe this one is a mule. Check the back plate number. If it’s 288 or lower, it’s a mule. If it’s 289 or higher, it’s a sub-$100 note.

@ Steve_in_Tampa The case was locked and was not able to get a picture of the back. Thanks for the info.

...and it's worth a $1000 if someone is willing to pay that for it
