Strange surface texture 1939d Germany 2 reichmarks km#93

I just pick up a collection of German coins from wii. In the bunch there was a1939d 2 reichmarks with a strange surface texture (bumps and ridges) that I never seen before. I assume it’s some sort of pmd. Does anyone know what could cause this?
I included a picture of a normal 1939d 2 reichmark for comparison.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

    Heat damage?

291fifth, Thank you for your reply.
I also posted on the us coin forum since this was more of a coin surface issue and besides your post I only received one other comment “running water”.
To me the rim and edge wording looks pretty good relative to the detail on the obverse and reverse. In hand the damaged coin’s detail looks a little better than the straight on picture.

    Three options:
    1 - Heat Damage
    2 - Occluded gas planchet
    3 - Counterfeit

    Doesn’t look fake though

    One other potential explanation...

    Possible political statement?

Looks like a poor attempt at casting a counterfeit. Resembles a lot of the crap currently coming out of china.

My assumption would be fire damage, and subsequent cleaning.
