    They won't keep him. They are going to try and win a World Series this year or next. They still need a healthy Tatis if they want to make that a reality.

    Good chance they are awful again in five years.

    I think Soto ends up being a rental and gets traded again prior to entering free agency.

    If he continues to bat under .250, he will wish he had accepted the $440M. I don't think you see superstars struggle so much when they are supposed to be ascending. Not saying he won't accomplish great things in the future but I would be a little leery, there is no good explanation for why he struggled so badly for most of the first half of the season. Hopefully, just a blip in a long and successful career, but I certainly wouldn't be entertaining a 10+ year contract for him right now if I were a GM.
