Master Set

What would be a good baseball set to try and collect the master set(every card)?

  • What difficulty of Challenge?
  • not the most difficult, but not an easy cheap set either. One with a good amount of GU/autographs, but not so many that it is almost impossible to collect. Also, I like upper deck the most, with fleer being second.

PS. when is collector empire going to be back up? When will the next auction be?
  • I'll look at the price guide and get back to you.

CE will be back up tomorrow. The hoster is away for the weekend and will fix it Monday (tomorrow). While site is down, I'm updating the site offline.
  • 2002 sets are a tough choice because they have tooooooooo many different insert sets.
  • well anything from 2000 on up would be good. Also, how would you go about putting together a set, would you buy boxes for the common cards, and then buy the rest separately?

I would go with Fleer Greats of the Game. The base set is small, and the expensive inserts will hold their value, being primarily autographs.

  • To build the base set, buy a couple of boxes to get the base set, then go to Ebay and try to get the higher end ones. After you get those, the rest should be a piece of cake.
