on site grading

Has anyone brought their coins to a show and had success with on site grading? Do they actually slab them there? Yelp reviews on coin grading has me nervous

Success meaning have the coins been graded, or that someone's gotten great grades? PCGS and NGC both have full grading capability on-site (when advertised as such), and you can go from submitting at the table to having a slab in hand in the course of a few hours to a day or two. Both companies also accept submissions at shows if you want to save on the outbound postage cost.
Are there really Yelp reviews for PCGS and NGC? I imagine they would be rather entertaining and useless.

At least in vegas they have been taking the coins back to CU for slabbing. If you drop them off Thursday you can pick them up either friday or saturday.
There are always going to be complaints. What percent of your "normal" experiences result in you leaving a review? What percent of your problematic experiences result in you leaving a review?

Useless, yes, but I imagine no more entertaining than the periodic tirade we see here.

Yeah, that's how they became the number one, most trusted slab service in the world.
Think of all the work in grading off site with all the heavy equipment. NGC once told me all that was involved and it seemed quite daunting. I definitely sympathize with the customer service personnel, so much stress.
@jmlanzaf Its hard to trust these days
Thanks to ebay, I trust. 75,000+ transactions with strangers and only a handful of problems.
