Hi CU!
My friend just bought this without fully knowing the level of sophistication of the counterfeiting going down.
Can anyone point out the evident signs?
Thanks,
John

I think the missing the decimal point in his total average is one sign. That back looks really fake to me but maybe it is just the image quality.
The back looks blotchy to me. The Bull logo at the top on the back looks to be missing ink. Also the ink on the back should be blue, this looks almost black.
The color on the back is off. The more important telltale signs are:
1) the eyes on the bull on the back should have distinct separation between pupil and eyelid
2) FG % should have white in the circles
3) NBA player bball on back bottom should have basketball lines (hardest for fakes to get right)
4) Copywrite logo on back should be clean “C” and full circle
5) Clear dot on 27.2 average on back
6) Fleer logo on front should be dot matrix pattern in the banner fold
Counterfeiters are getting pretty good on the front. It is the subtleties on the back they miss every time. Hope this helps.
Check the small triangle on the bottom right of the “fleer premier” logo on the front. Is it a solid color or does it look like small circles or a pattern background? Some of the older fakes used to mess this triangle up.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.
Here are two links that give step by step help in spotting a fake.

Card stock. That paper is way too white and clean to be used in 1986. If you're gonna buy raw 86 Fleer Jordans, you should carry around some commons to use for comparison purposes.
Counterfeiters these days can't replicate 80s card stock. If anyone wants to see some good fakes, I brought a couple to the show. Stop by the Dave & Adam's booth in the corporate area and I'd be happy to show them to you.

100% fake. There is a tell-tale sign on a Jordan Fleer RC that it doesn't have among the other items mentioned. I have never seen someone acknowledge it on a public forum so I won't be sharing it either, but it wasn't listed as a reason within this thread. It is the only way to guarantee it is not a reprint or fake since counterfeits/fakes haven't noticed it ever. xD
