Tracking Services/Sites

Does anyone know of any services that can track and maintain values of cards? I have a Cardbase account with about 200 cards on it but they don't all have a monetary value and I'd like to get a better idea of what my collection is actually worth as I keep adding to it.

I also opened an account with TCDB but that seems to be more of the same. Maybe I'm not understanding how to navigate the sites, but it's a little frustrating to take the time to enter all these cards in and then not get a complete number.

It's mostly because there is no right number. It's probably actually worth less than any number you see in print. Even the completed sales on eBay you have to knock some percentage off to see what the seller realized. If the sale was even real.

Cant you enter a value yourself? Like, take a value from SMR and put it in a notes section or something?

I’ve seen some places say they’ll use your purchase price as the value if they can’t find something comparable somewhere online, but these are years worth of cards and I don’t have the slightest idea what I paid for some of these cards

Since it's just you seeing it, why don't you just note what you think it's worth.

The value only matters if you're filing an insurance claim or selling.

There is some stuff that is probably worth a ton more than any price you see in print. But only cream of the crop vintage. Pre=war. Some stuff probably gets traded nearly completely in the dark.

This is a pretty cool magazine that I got when I was a kid. The one I had as a kid is long gone. I got this one off eBay a while back. Maybe the guy in this article lurks here.

After 8th grade my class took a field trip to Washington D.C. Not the whole class. But a good number of kids. Part of that trip was going to tour the White House. I missed the White House portion of the trip because I stayed in the Smithsonian so long that I failed to meet up with my class. The Air and Space Museum was freakin amazing. But, right around 8th grade I was completely enthralled by baseball cards. I didn't have enough time to take it in. The Smithsonian is enormous. I will go again maybe before I die.

Their money exhibit was mind blowing. 10,000 dollar bills 50,000 dollar bills and 100,000 dollar bills from the early 20th century. Every denomination on display. They stopped printing that stuff because they didn't want people to be able to move that much money around in their pockets. They stopped printing that stuff 100 years ago.

The baseball exhibit is mind blowing too. Mind blowing to an 8th grader. There may be collections out there that are better. I've never been to the Hall of Fame. I'm sure some guys have collections that are even cooler.

This article isn't that great. It's short. A few cool pics.

I like the psa set registry.
I add all my cards there. They can be anything not just psa.
I scan card and add front and back. Enter date, cost and seller.
Bingo there is all the info you need. Psa will sometimes add prices to it as well.
