excuse me....1948 LEAF Warren Spahn...not Bowman.
I like the Spahn if you think it has crack and resubmit chances. It looks like it has a new PSA label on it which to me means it was graded harsher than cards with the old PSA labels. I would hold it for a couple years and then see if it bumps a grade.
Successful card BST transactions with cbcnow, brogurt, gstarling, Bravesfan 007, and rajah 424.
kinda like the Spahn though...
'48 Leaf Spahn, and by a long shot. I own this card in a 6 for my All-time Braves RC set. It's the only '48 Leaf I own, but I did have trouble finding a decent copy with centering and strong color. The one pictured above is an Epic 4.
Always buying Bobby Cox inserts. PM me.
Spahn. You ever try writing Rizzuto in cursive? Impossible.
Kiss me twice.....let's party.
I voted for the Spahn too. It's an iconic card. I didn't even recognize the '55 Rizzuto, meaning I am unfamiliar with the card.

Successful transactions on the BST boards with rtimmer, coincoins, gerard, tincup, tjm965, MMR, mission16, dirtygoldman, AUandAG, deadmunny, thedutymon, leadoff4, Kid4HOF03, BRI2327, colebear, mcholke, rpcolettrane, rockdjrw, publius, quik, kalinefan, Allen, JackWESQ, CON40, Griffeyfan2430, blue227, Tiggs2012, ndleo, CDsNuts, ve3rules, doh, MurphDawg, tennessebanker, and gene1978.
Both great cards, but I'd go with the Spahn. Iconic set versus the 55 Bowman Color TV set.
The Rizzuto has a white lower right corner.
Wouldn't get a 9 now.

contrarian here...the Rizzuto is a POP 13 with only 1 higher. There are 453 graded higher on the Spahn....I would get the Rizzuto now and just be patient in getting a Spahn...
I don't think I've commented on this site in five years, but I logged in to applaud the Billy Madison reference.
I like the Andy Warhol look of the '48 leaf issue~ I think in the folklore of collecting this issue has a ton of upside... and to get one centered is quite tough..... so I am caving into the iconic Spahn Rookie Card ..... I change my vote.
Many consider the Leaf set as 1949. To me the ‘48 Bowman is Spahn’s rookie. The back of the Spahn mentions he helped pitch the Braves to the NL Pennant. For investment 9s go up faster than 4s. If it is for collecting than buy the one you like better. Or go down in grade on Rizzuto to a 7 (inexpensive) and buy them both.
