The seller is from China, what else do you need to know?

  • Thanks guys.

  • Sold 495$ poor buyer unless they intend to add it to their study of fake 8 reales coins.

Not a legitimate coin issued by the Mexico City Mint.
That coin would be in a top-10 consensus for strike and condition.

Completely fake hence the price it sold for (still makes no sens to me but some collect counterfeits for study purposes) otherwise it would have sold for a whole lot more. Even a real authentic version of this coin would bring in the worst of shape 2500$ to 3000$. The variety is the most common (but you will only see maybe 1 or 2 real ones up for auction per year) of all 1733 Mexican 8 reales but still a scarce coin in any grade (again this one is a fake). I believe their are 9 types of 1733 Mexican 8 reales ranging from scarce to very rare.
