When I click on your name, it then gives me an option that says 'message'.

That will post the message to member's "wall", I believe, where every one can see it.

Going to your Inbox will allow you start a private message.

  • Thank you. I tried clicking on both your user names to try it out and it didn't give me a message option

You are still an "Applicant" once you are an approved member you will be able to send messages.
If a member sends you a message you are able to respond.
If you really want to contact a member right away you can post on their wall as mentioned but it is publicly viewable.
You may want to post something like "please send me a message"

Ok, that's the reason. You are still an "Applicant".

Maybe @PCGS_Moderator can review your application for full membership. :p

  • There is another team that applicant requests go though to become members.

Is there someone else we should tag rather than you?

Some new members seem to languish as Applicants for weeks...

Check your profile maybe you are not allowing anyone to send you a message, like blocking any buddy from seeing anything in your profile. This may not be the case but I would go to your homepage and hit the little person that is right to the right of message. That could be where you might be seeing a problem. Good luck and welcome aboard.
