SOLD: 1943 Mexico "Centenario" 50 Pesos Gold Coin NGC MS65 1.2 oz's - Low Mintage - Ends Today

pointfivezeropointfivezero Posts: 1,845 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hi all,

I just listed a very nice example of the beautiful Mexican 50 Pesos gold coin on ebay. The 1943 "Centenario" had the lowest of all 50 Pesos coin mintages at just 89,000 struck. In addition, it is the only year which does not list the denomination on the obverse. With over 1.2 oz's of gold, this is a stunning and hefty coin. At MS65, there are only 45 graded higher at NGC. I just had this coin re-holdered into a brand new, scratch resistant slab. If you ever wanted a Centenario for your collection, this might be the one for you.

Thanks for looking - Tim

I tried to boost it for you, but eBay asked me to verify my phone number. Fine, I jumped through their hoops, only to get an error message that said "something went wrong", and no suggested remedy. I hope this isn't happening to your other bidders! :/

Same here...any bid over $500 seems to trigger that message.
Usually going through the hoops works (the issue is when someone tries to snipe and that message pops up, then it's too late to even try the hoops).

Hey thanks to you both, @lordmarcovan and @U1chicago. Appreciate the help. Who knows, if it's a slow week on ebay, you might land a heck of a bargain!

I did try again and the text a code option worked for me (and allowed me to bid soon after).
Hopefully others won't be prevented from bidding.

I notice that Ebay does this from time to time and its asked me to verify when I had seconds left and placing my first bid.

Its caused me to miss out on a couple auctions so now if I REALLY want something, I make a minimum incremental bid with plently time left to
    1.Receive a call from ebay
    2.get a code
    3. go back to ebay enter the code
    4. refresh the auction
    5. bid (and hopefully win)

Ive had it error afterwards to , but after a few refreshes it loaded normally...

OP - Great Coin, actually one of my Favorite 50 peso dates and in GEM grade... beautiful

Best of luck with the sale

It's all about what the people want...

Thanks to all for the interest. Only a few hours left in the auction and still at an affordable price.

  • It’s a beautiful coin! One of the (many) reasons I joined this forum was get an idea of Sellers on EBay who were honest. eBay because my problem after getting kicked off for incorrect password on a new laptop. Hours on the phone with them and my account was reset - minus perfect feedback. I have always paid within an hour of winning a bid. Frustrating.
