The Yankees have paid off this year

Steven59Steven59 Posts: 8,680 ✭✭✭✭✭

NY just came into Cleveland, yesterday was rained out and it was the best thing that happenened to the Indians Gaurdians. Today the Yankees just made a mockery out of the Gaurdians: First game 13 -4, second game 6-1. Looks like the money in the real NY has paid off as the Yanks are a Jugernaut this year.

Money has ALWAYS been the Yankees best weapon.... FOREVER.

True, but sometimes that money didn't even get the Yanks into the playpoffs. You have to have the right kind of players that can handle the Big Dollars and the Media when they are in a slump. When CC Sabathia went to the Yanks I'm not sure how well he handled the Fame and Fortune coming from Cleveland.

Can't wait. Now that should be a good series - the networks should supply a Pay Per View telecast just of the fans in the stands! I'd subscribe.........

The two World Series teams are determined by 3 rounds of playoffs prior to going to the big party.
Wild Card, League Division Series, and League Championship Series, best of 3, best of 5 and best of 7.

I'm attaching a pic of this year's format, as it gets a bit tweaked year after year.
While the Yankees and Mets look like they'll roll into the WS this year, anything can and will happen. IF you don't believe me, just Google the 2004 Red Sox, WILD CARD to WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS. After being down 3-0 to the Yankees, the Red Sox miracuously won the next 8 in a row and the rest was history.

BOOM! And just like that the Indians Gaurdians one hit the Yanks today and win 2-0. There is a God - LOL!

If one looks at the payroll of the Yanks, compared to any other team any year, would suspect instead of being considered the greatest ever, with 27 WS or whatever, quite possibly they are the biggest failure organization that has ever existed ?

Some can buy anything. Those that can should win the biggest prize each year. The Yanks failure at doing so the last 100 years proves basic loserness.

Phillies at #4. I know there is a lot of love/hate towards Trout, but what about Bryce Harper? He leaves Washington and they then go on to win the WS.

I hope the Yankees set the regular Season win record then promptly lose in their first playoff series 🤞

Don't forget any team can win a short series and I hope the Yankees end up losing the first one they are in.
