Does anyone know why a 1974 s penny would weigh 3.06g?

Hello! I was going through some pocket change and noticed this 1974 s penny looking a little lighter colored than a normal penny would be and decided to weigh it and it came out to be 3.06g. Would anyone know why that is?

The mint tolerance for the weight of a copper cent is 3.11 gms +/-0.13, so your coin is within the spec and normal.
