Hello everybody.
My girlfriend inherited the Wayne Gretzky 1979 O Pee Chee in mint condition, glass secured. We contacted PSA and they want us to send it by mail which for obvious reasons we cant. Customer service wont help in finding a solution. Can anyone advise us on how to proceed to grade it without risking it?
Thank you.

Fly there and drop it off in person
lets see a scan...
I agree. Give us a close up scan. The last guy that came here with a Gretzky rookie that he thought was in mint condition, we approximated it was actually PSA 3-6.

just mail it...
or go to the National in person
First off, even if in true mint condition you can courier it.
And agree with others, post a pic, we can let you know how to proceed from there.
What are the obvious reasons? I recently got back a submission that I had to insure for $30,000, so youre covered if you buy the insurance
Tell us How much meat it has on it.

1) How is it known to be in "Mint Condition"
2) What do you mean by "Glass Secured" ?
3) Is this 1979 O Pee Chee Wayne Gretzky new to the hobby?
It's the singer not the song - Peter Townshend (1972)
Oh and by the way, screw down plastic holders have been known to damage cards.

I have a question. What makes a person go through the trouble of signing up here, posting about a really valuable card they don't own, and then leaving without acknowledging any of the responses? My guess is that he is hoping someone is foolish enough to PM him with a lowball offer, and then actually pay him thinking they got a great deal.
The username reminds me of Elaine's fake bullfighter boyfriend on Seinfeld, Eduardo Caroccio.

Probably already found a "buyer" !!
Is your girlfriends name Jenny, by chance?
I don’t think its that far fetched that someone would register on the PSA board to ask a question about submitting to PSA. Also keep in mind PSA’s marketing has been very much about turning cardboard into gold, so we shouldn’t be so hard on someone when they have that exact expectation. Last, based on the most recent responses, I wouldn’t reply to the mob either.
Re-reading the original post it's Classic Scamming stuff. Not to say it is, but if one was going to attempt a scam its pretty much a template on how to do so. Also possibly a mark may have already been found....?

If I offer you 100,000.00 for it. Would you be able to mail it to me?
The reasons are pretty obvious.
hey gemint -- That's classic...
