Here is an interesting aspect of collecting only one set...
You go along, month after month, looking for all the cards you need. Every time you obtain a card you
most likely study it. You look at the guy, read his stats and bio info, and then probably file the card
away. Every now and then you might pull the cards out just to look over them. After time, you begin
to memorize how each player looks.
Life is grand. But then one day you happen upon an auction for a common card in an adjacent year to the year
you collect. You recognize the name and check out the picture on the card.
"What? He looks like that?" That's so different from the guy I know!"
No harm is done, but I just get this semi-weird feeling. It's the feeling you get after being away from someone
close to you, and then one day, years later, meeting up with them. They look different. Perhaps not in a bad way, but
different from the picture you had of them in your mind all those years none-the-less.
Anyone else experience this, or am I taking my set collection a little too seriously?
