I would be very cautious about buying this from eBay. There are counterfeit examples being passed in to the market.

I’ve heard Blue Ribbon previously mentioned before. What is it primarily being used for?

It is prized among copper specialists for removing organic material from surfaces without affecting color, and it also has a lubricating quality that shields surfaces from future oxidation when the coin is stored properly. It has not been manufactured for over 30 years, so remaining quantities are extremely scarce.

I'd also check out older coin shops in smaller towns as they're likely to have old stock.

Even without the counterfeit factor, the old original blue ribbon (like my spare bottle from coindeuce years ago) is much better than the diluted, reformulated stuff they sold ~20 years ago.
