Auction Zip

Would love to know what the site thinks of them. I bought about a dozen raw coins from them yesterday. the descriptions either said uncirculated or closely uncirculated. How hard of a hit am I going to take? Their upcoming sale results show that some people are buying gold based on 2400-2900 an ounce. Add 15% buying fee to that and you have a classic case of WTF! And the auction house will not tell you who they selling for. Never again for me.

Only check in on occasion when memory serves. Never purchased anything through them.
Don't know them but they sound shady. 15% buyers fee is already beyond market.
Is AuctionZip based in the USA?

Which company did you buy from? There are thousands of different auction companies using AuctionZip. AuctionZip is just a platform / software for auctions.
And with that, there are many reputable companies on there, and definitely some bad / scam types.
Sounds like all those companies who are going to compare insurance for me , something that sounds good until they ply your email with dozens of offers 😉🙀🦫
🎶 shout shout, let it all out 🎶
Auction Zip is NOT a seller. Auction Zip provides an auction platform for auction companies.
Auction Zip is wonderful. Not every company who uses their software is wonderful.
You are not understanding how it works. You didn't buy anything from Auction Zip. You bought from a user of that platform.
It is quite clear who the user is from them as it is spelled out in the auction description along with the terms and conditions which are set by the user not by auction zip.
The only major auction house that is below 15% is GC. Heritage and Stacks are at 20%. The others are at 15 or 17.5%
I will save you the explanation of why the buyer's premium is irrelevant.
I feel a bit silly for paying $2670 for an ounce of gold from the mint. ( kinda) Relating to some of what you're thinking , I think
Some costs seem ludicrous. On the flip side ... it's a hobby , we all ought to carefully tread in.
Fun and serious are hard to mix.
The company was Gold standard.
I'm not familiar with that company, but after taking a quick look at their auctions and reviews - would probably be a company I'd pass on buying from or be very cautious of going by their condition reports.
You forgot DL. I guess they must not count.
I consider all BPs to be irrelevant anyway. But that's now 2 under 15% and everyone else over. So, both my points remain: 15% is not excessive, it is normal and BP is irrelevant.
Find me an auction house with 100% buyers premium and I'll still bid and not complain.
Art and antiques auctions are mostly around 25% or even close to 30%.
