Cards where you can pinpoint the exact game based on the photo
Which cards can you pinpoint the exact game and day that the card image was based on.
This Steve Garvey card was mentioned in a previous thread that I replied to, but thought it warranted it's own thread.
From the looks of it, Steve Garvey just homered, thus, about to cross home plate to shake Wed Parker's hand. Looking at Garvey's Statistics from 1972, he homered 9 times, and in only one of those 9 games, Wes Parker batted behind him.

What other examples can you come up with.?
Note: Not looking for the obvious cards like historical moments, the vintage Topps World Series Highlights cards, or All Star Games. Let's stick with pre 1990 for now!
Comments
Note: There are two games where Eric Davis batted behind Tony Perez when Perez homered. One was a home game, one was away. Given the reds are wearing their away grey jersey (vs. white), this game was on May 21, 1985.

Reds beat Cubs 5-2
That’s funny. I assumed Davis had been on base and waited for Perez, rather than being on deck.
I'm thinking Super Bowl LIV...Am I close on this one?
Larry Walker stuck out 13 times in his 1989 season. Catcher wearing Dodger Home White Uniform. Walker played in 2 games where he struck out against the Dodgers at home. One was a day game, another a night game. The photo on card clearly is a day game.

Expos beat Dodgers 4-0
Kind of, but that's pretty obvious. Looking for examples of more obscure games, where you have to do some investigation to really find out.
That’s kind of rarity in the box score with Sandberg getting some playing time at short and Davey Lopes starting at third.
That's actually a good point...Davis would be holding a bat if he was batting next. However, I double checked all the Reds away games, where Perez scored a run in 1985 and 1984, and didn't find any record of Both of them scoring on a same play (where Davis was before him as a baserunner). So, as of now, I think I'll stick to my current assumption.
White Sox only played 7 games at Oakland in 1981. Assuming Fisk caught the ball, there is only 1 record of a "Foul Poply Out to Catcher" in which Fisk was the Catcher (Mike Heath popped out).

Very interesting! Here's a cool and very informative video discussing this very topic based on the 1973 Topps baseball set.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
Thanks for sharing...wow, that's a lot more detail and research than I would've put in...out of my league.
Clemente did NOT strike out (yet) in this photo
Always felt kind of odd for Topps to feature a Hall of Famer, apparently upset about a strike call, in his "In-Action" card nevertheless! Giants Catcher is Russ Gibson (#18), and there is only 1 game in SF where both Clemente and Russ Gibson played.
However, in this photo, I don't think Clemente Struck Out looking. Baseball Reference will list "Strikeout Looking" for called 3rd strikes. For Clemente, he only had 1 SO in this game, and it did not designate it as "Strikeout Looking", so it appears Clemente is upset about a called Strike 1 or Strike 2, but NOT Strike 3.

All Star Games turn up a lot. Many of those multiplayer cards Fleer featured in the late '80's/early '90's were taken at them. The Pascual card shows him at Comiskey in '83 and the '85 Murphy is clearly at Candlestick, where the ASG had been the year before. The Sandberg in that same set is also from that day.
The '93 Bowman TP is from the May 30, 1992 game at Shea. Terry is arriving at home plate being greeted by Steve Avery and Deion Sanders (who he drove in) and Ron Gant (who was on deck) after hitting a 3 run HR off of David Cone.
I think that whole 72 Clemente thing came up here before, maybe in the '72 set thread. I don't think he's reacting to a call. I believe he's rolling his head to keep his neck muscles loose. I've seen film of him doing that. I think he did it a lot.
I always was curious about what was going on in the background on Glenn Hubbard's 1984 Fleer (#182) card...
