I have had a business website for 20 years for my Error Coin Business

Today I get this notification from the website hosting company ...

"We're Sunsetting Auctiva Commerce August 31, 2022"

Which means that I need to redo my website and find a new hosting service which I have been wanting to do for some time now but it looks like I will be forced into the change.

What I am looking for in a new hosting company ...

• Large photos with the option of clicking on an even larger image

• Shopping cart that can be paid through paypal

• Education Center where I can educate about different types of mint errors

• Blog

• Link to my Instagram page

Please help with suggestions for a website hosting company, other options that I may want on the website, and examples of what you think are cool and functionable coin website and the hosting company associated with that website.

Thank you.

Never heard of GoDaddy, but will definitely have a look at that one

    GoDaddy has excellent telephone support.

There are many options on how to set up a website.

I choose to use a template as I do not know how to use the software program "Wordpress".

The templates are really easy to set up an work great and look fantastic. BUT .... the templates can not be customized on certain things altho much of the template is customizable. No matter how many times I called customer service to fix certain things, the customer service rep nor the technical people had the power to change back end settings on the template. Very frustrating. I worked though it.

I would give GoDaddy a 99 out of 100 and recommend them.

I uploaded all my content, over 700 TPG error coins times at least 4 images of each. That was a lot of work.

I still am doing adjustments on the website.

I plan on adding a blog and an education page, all of which will take a lot of time and thought.

The site works great as I sold a coin the very first day I launched (and more since then) and have had a lot visitors to the new site. I plan a relaunch when I get the blog and education page set up.

I know you may have a blog int the future...what about a 'tab' with error definitions so that people could learn what the different types of errors are?

Yes, that is what I mean by an eduction page. I want to do it right so that will take some time and thought. Almost like a mini online book.

    Great choice!
I’ve used GoDaddy for hosting my site and photos for 10 years.

Ive had very few problems and when I’ve had them their support solved them fast.

Congrats on the transition. I would choose a different error coin for your logo for the presumed majority of your customers might not find it compelling.

  • When you sell an item on the godaddy website does it know to charge the tax appropriately based on what state the buyer is in? The reason I ask is I started to fill in an item using a template that I could potentially sell and it has a button for taxes that says 'standard'. I don't know what that means. I'm not yet their customer so I was hoping to avoid contacting them yet.

Successful transactions here and ATS with: jwitten, Rob41281, bajjerfan, cucamongacoin, Jim F., physics-fan3.14, x2rider, Wahoo554, Weather11am, Relaxn, jimineez1, Ronyahski, Bliggity, SurfinxHI, McGrump (thru BAJJERFAN), ms71, Downtown1974, ad4400

  • This content has been removed.
  • I'm curious, who do you have to skin at PCGS to get away with this covert but obvious self-promotion?

On the GoDaddy template, you can add (or not) a tax rate for your state.

I am in California, so for coins, I charge sales tax on all coins sales up to $1500 when the no tax rule kicks in.

I do not charge sales tax for any other state.

I like the site! Great pictures and the template works for what you need. I agree with the above statement regarding having difficulties with templates, I taught myself how to code and build pages from scratch. Best benefit to that is I own the code, and even if the host company goes out of business, I can take all that I've done and reupload it elsewhere with only a minor hitch.
