1980 Topps wax pack with Henderson showing

I have a wax pack with Henderson clearly showing on the back. What should I do with it? Should I sell it as is? Wait and have PSA eventually authenticate and grade before selling? I'm tempted to open it and hope the wax can be removed and grade at least an 8. Just want some opinions. Thanks in advance.

Don't open it.
take your wax pack to the Exchange.
I forgot to mention that the pack is in nice condition, with no holes or tears, but the gum is split in two. Half is stuck to the top card, and the other half is loose, but can be shaken back into place to fit perfectly with the other piece. Will PSA still grade it?
I would say definitely dont open it. I think the pack with him showing has a lot more value than your potential card. A long time ago I opened a decent bit of 1980 Topps and the Hendersons were usually pretty bad. That is why there are close to no 10s. 9s are very very hard to come by. The ones I pulled were PSA 7s and 8s. The pack has value with him showing. Maybe go buy a nice PSA 7 if you want the card but grade the pack.
Don't open it, but I'm not sure I would have it graded either (could come back not graded). Sell it/trade it in for a good single card that's already graded. Agree that the Henderson Rookies are sort of like the Jerry Rice Rookies, very extremely rare grades above PSA 8.
Gretzky,Ripken, and Sandberg collection. Still trying to complete 1975 Topps baseball set from when I was a kid.
Just send it in to be graded, not like it will go down in value while you wait if it is returned NOT graded... I'd push the gum back together and then pack it in a way that the gum will not move..... Unfortunately PSA is going to reship it to BBCE, but maybe the gum won't move.
there are tons of raw henderson rookies, not so much with unopened showing. i wouldn't open it
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
DO NOT OPOEN !!!!
Those are photos ofthe pack previously described. I will not open it.
Where did you find it?
Yes, they will.
This is a pack to be kept sealed, not opened.
I see this thread is from 2 years ago. Did you submit the pack to PSA for authentication?

I have just held it. Someone commented on this thread recently, so I figured I would post the photos. My son goes to school outside Chicago, and I kept thinking I would stop at BBCE to hopefully get an opinion before submitting to PSA. He's now a junior and I still haven't, so I am finally going to send it along with some other packs.
A friend, who's dad who was a collector. I purchased all of his vintage items, including a bunch of other unopened 80 packs. Nobody realized, until I inspected them closely that Henderson is showing.
It lowers the risk of damage to the wax wrapper if you make the drive to Schererville, IN to have Steve authenticate because then it does not have to go from you to PSA…then back from PSA to BBCE,..then back again to PSA to slab and grade…b4 finallly going from PSA to you. Two shipments are eliminated by initially dropping off at BBCE.
I just happened to be in Schereville, IN for a funeral this February and dropped off a 1962 Topps Baseball wax pack 1st series w/Mgrs’ Dream showing on back…and cut down the trips/risk in half.
I didn't know that I could actually drop off packs for PSA grading there. If that's the case, I'll wait and make it a point to stop when I travel to Evanston in a few months.
That is ideal but how many people just happen to be stopping by Schererville?
If you pack properly, potential damage to the pack in transit should not be an issue. The problem with wax packs lately has been damage during the holdering process with the well within the holder not being wide enough to properly accommodate the pack or with tears in the wrapper caused by loose gum within the pack once it has been holdered.

Good to have cousins in Schererville/Lake County IN…
I have this Super Cello I bought few years back. Was once told Rickey can't be on the front - never bothered to send it in to find out. Any opinions?
Standard super cello pack collation is DEF/ABC which would put Rickey on back half of a 1980 super cello but reversed collation is not that unusual either. That said, the fact that A) you can't see the card on back of a super cello to confirm if collation is reversed and B ) 1980 super cellos are much easier to reseal than pretty much any cello should make one very leery about purchasing one with Henderson on top unless the provenance is rock solid (Fritsch, for example). I am not suggesting your super cello is not authentic but many of the ones you see with Henderson on top that not leave Topps that way back in 1980.
