Question about gloss on 2022 Topps Heritage

I know there's a pretty big Heritage following here.
I just purchased a complete 1-400 base set along with a group of about 70 of the SPs (500 series).
It's very noticeable on the 1-400 set that about half of the cards have a typical gloss finish and about half have more of a matte (missing gloss) finish. Is this a common thing? I have not seem it in past Heritage issues. Interestingly, all of the SPs have good gloss.

    Anybody? It's really weird - I even split the normal gloss cards from the lack of gloss cards and it's exactly 200 cards each.

    In other Topps issues the Vintage Stock variations had a matte finish as opposed to the normal gloss.

    Also check the backs for logo variations in the Topps logos.

    I'm sure one of the Heritage pros will chime in eventually
