Thomas actually had Kreig halfway wrapped up for sack number 8 on the final play, but Kreig broke free and fired the ball into the endzone for the game winning TD.
The game was played on Veteran's Day. Whiteman Air Force Base is relatively close to Arrowhead, and a formation of jets performed a flyover of the stadium before the game. Thomas' father had been an Air Force pilot in Vietnam, and was killed in action while flying a mission, and the emotions from all of that caused Derrick to play the game of his life. Unfortunately, in a loss for the team.

I think it is next to impossible the career triples record will ever be broken.
